I graphed Weight vs Finishing position for a couple of the KISS Community League races just to see if there was any correlation.

So ... a slight correlation favoring heavier riders on Volcano Flat Reverse, is less on the punchy Innsbruck Ring and it disappears entirely on the Watopia Mountain stage.

nice data still have the heavy guys winning in all races tho; the moutain one really should be more populated at the front with the lighter riders
Those lines look pretty level, good to see. It would appear people are confusing lack of mass with lack of effort. :roll:

Can you do similar graphs with height vs position to check that too? Great stuff thanks for putting the time in.

really carl you know how much effort each individual is putting in, amazing that can i have the lottery numbers this week too; to add they are scatter graphs with a line of best fit so in the scientific world not the best way to gleen accurate information

The graph shouldn't be anything else apart from what it is; a display of the objective data. If you think the graph should show something else, then you need to re-evaluate your assumptions about who is winning races.
why? does the graph take into account what trainers riders are using, dd, vs non dd smart, vs dumb; are they with a power meter?, height doping weight doping etc, too many variables which are not taken into account. for that graph to be scientifically correct, for it to have true merit every rider should be using the same set up; i write scientific articles for a living and whilst this data is interesting it would never be published!

Hi Ned Bowen,

I was looking at your plot for the volcano flat and I could not understand why we got different results, my plot show that the lighter riders finish to the front. Then I realized you plotted the B group that is after w/kg filtering. If you plot all results (i.e. no filtering) you will see if we had a ranking system and not w/kg lighter riders will even win the Flat races.
