IMPORTANT - LEADER CONTROLLED TRAINING EVENT + JERSEY UNLOCK, BUT PLEASE ENTER THE CAT FOR YOUR ABILITY AS WE WILL HAVE SOME PRACTICE RACING IN THE 2ND HALF.

TEAM CLS are introducing a Summer CRIT WEEK at the end of each month for 6 months, starting next week, and this is your chance to come along and join as our leader controls the pace and explains to everyone how the Team CLS Races will work. After 5 laps the leader will ask the pack to start splitting into the CATs they entered and try some real racing for the 2nd half. Team CLS will hold our Crit race week at the end of the month in place of their regular weekly events through the summer months to keep our events varied and fun and to see if you hard work during our workout weeks is paying off.

IMPORTANT - Remember to join our Zwift Power team though to be included in our League Tables or you will be classified as ‘NON CLS’.

With the roads reserved for our group ONLY we can focus on honing your sneaky skills a bit. Where is the best wheel placing, what tactics can you adopt and how will the points system and CATs work. All will be explained in ride and of course in our future event descriptions. If you have never done a race but always fancied a go then come and see what our race weeks will be all about, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This is also an opportunity to UNLOCK your TEAM CLS KIT for you to put on for the racing season that lies ahead.

So what is Crit racing. Criterium races (or crits, for short) are short, fast races held on closed loop courses. The races start off just like a standard road race – after the gun, the field will take off, jockeying for position, attacking, normal race stuff. The distinguishing feature of these Team CLS crits are ‘primes’ – these are similar to intermediate sprint points in road races, but there are usually a lot more of them in crits. As the field loops past the start/finish line points are awarded for the first riders across the line each lap with the final result / lap counting as double points. Results will be published for each CAT on our Group Page, and there may even be prizes at the end of the Summer Season. It is very important that you select the correct CAT for your ability in this one as the CATs will go off from different PENS. The organiser may manually adjust CAT’s if they feel a rider has entered in the C’s should really be in the B’s etc etc.

TEAM CLS CRIT WEEK consists of the following.

Tues 18:50 BST – Shorter Flat Profile
Thurs 18:50 BST – Shorter Flat Profile
Sat 14:45 BST – Longer Flat Profile – (Team CLS 2018 Crit Series)
Sun 18:50 – 60 mins. Chill ‘n’ Spin Recovery Ride

Critical Information - Although everyone is welcome to enter and enjoy this festival of racing you must be a member of our Team CLS Zwift Power Team to appear in any of our group leagues and CAT Prime data. After the race Non - Team CLS Zwift Power members will have their data recatagorised as ‘NON CLS’ and will sit in a Prime Tab of their own, so follow this link to sign up NOW, we apologise in advance for this. For your information our Non Race weeks include the following. We run B and C CAT events that leave the pen at the same time both with leaders on Tues and Thurs. Our midweek workouts set off at 18:50 GMT, It’s a CLIMBING and TEMPO session on Tuesday and an INTERVAL one on Thursdays. On Saturday when we are not running the Race, we have the Social ENDURANCE rides of approximately 50 miles that set off at 08:30 and 14:45 on varied courses, they last about 2 to 2 1/2 hours (We do drop the 08:30 event during British Summer months). Then finally we have a RECOVERY event on Sunday again at 18:50 GMT where we all ride together Chilling ‘n’ Spinning. The Tuesday and Thursday events are great workout sessions that will improve your fitness.

We run a Team Facebook Group, which we encourage people to follow for news and other group ride info and events and a place where you can even order our kit to wear in real life. It is also a great place to ask any questions you may have about Zwift and we will do our best to answer them for you. We have tried to put together a FULL weekly package that will allow riders to both enjoy their indoor sessions and back that up with some great workouts that will improve your fitness. Our Rides are entertaining throughout, and we have some fantastic regulars on every ride, so what are you waiting for, come and join us.
