Come and Join Team CLS for our Vocal ‘n’ Social Club Ride to put some distance in those legs and deliver a good BASE session for you. On this one our B and C CAT regulars ride together and support each other. These leave the Pen at 08:30 and 14:45.

HIGH C CAT - 2.3 to 2.5 w/kg TEMPO, 2.7 to 3.2 w/kg CLIMBING

This is our weekly ‘Social Ride’ so if you are a ‘B’ CAT looking for a really tough workout go elsewhere this is all about Teamwork. This is a club level ride though, so the pace is high end ‘C’ CAT. Some ramps may see that level increased so be prepared to dig in at times, but the leaders will look after you. You do need to be able to hold the described pace though on this one, it is designed to be a ‘slow burner’ you might say. Please think carefully about joining if you cannot hold these w/kg as we also have B CAT riders taking part, the leader cannot slow repeatedly at the expense of other riders in the group.

If you are having a bad day, and you do find yourself dropped do not feel beat up, try to complete the course and hook up with other riders who may be behind you or message those around to see if they want to ride at a slightly reduced pace. It is impossible to find a level to suit all so on a long ride like this some splits are inevitable hence we apologise in advance. You will get stronger week by week, so come and join us and make the most of having the course to ourselves !!!!

From experience this 2 to 2 ½ hours session is a long time on a Turbo so do not be lulled into a false sense of security at the start, if you are new to indoor training, you will be tired at the end. We don’t enforce our Regular CLS Kit on this one, it’s run what you’ve brung. so, feel free to turn up in your regular ride jerseys (everyone welcome) or put on something new if it’s dirty. Team CLS regulars will be wearing our Freespeed kit so you can identify us for any in ride support.

This is a very important ride in our weekly schedule as it provides some vital saddle time, an area often omitted on a turbo. due to boredom. You won’t be bored on this one, we never shut up ha ha! Please use Tag - (CLS) after your Surname to help us identify riders and push your data through to Zwift Power for your benefit.

We sometimes have a designated climb during the ride where we have a ‘FREE FOR ALL!’. You can climb that one as quick as you want, but the leader will ask you to slow after we crest in that situation until they are satisfied the group is back together. If you are ahead, please look out for these instructions. Remember any short ramps we lift the active pace by 0.5 w/kg but then settle back to the set pace ASAP. The leader may introduce real life situations you may face out on the road, such as headwinds and tailwinds / good or bad roads etc. where efforts may be required to go up or down for periods.

Now the IMPORTANT BIT - Although we don’t have official SWEEPERS on this ride you will probably be accompanied by members of our famous ‘ORANGE ARMY’, members of TEAM CLS CC who are dedicated to their vocation of helping others. If you have had a drop outs or accidently hit a wrong key, type ‘HELP’ and if on the ride they will come back and help you back to the group. Too often they come back to find people either running intervals at the back or simply ending their ride, so you must type ‘HELP’ so we know you need support! No cry for ‘HELP’ and we leave you in peace to finish the ride at your own pace.

Members of the ‘ORANGE ARMY’ can be recognised by their CLS Freespeed Kit and Long Orange Socks, oh and long serving members (Level 25) will also be wearing an Orange Cap and can often lovely Orange Tron bikes. PLEASE TAKE NOTE, all you need to do is type ‘HELP’ and will do our best to draft you back to the main group. We will not come back if you are simply unable to hold the ride pace, we are there to support technical issues.

1. If you have a technical issue or have accidently pressed a wrong button that has caused you to drop off the back and you are struggling to get back just type – ‘HELP.
2. Do not ask us to come back and support you if you are unable to hold the described pace as we must maintain this regardless of casualties.
3. If you don’t type ‘HELP’ we won’t send the Orange Army back automatically … you have been warned. (Practise your in Ride typing skills in advance)
4. Do NOT select a TT bike for this event – They Do Not benefit from any group draft, if the Orange Army see you on one, they will leave you.

This is a chance to enjoy a friendly group Club Ride just like your regular real-life ones, No Big Egos on this one, and plenty of in ride banter but it will test your fitness.

For your information, we run a 60-minute RECOVERY ride on Sundays, followed by our weekday workouts. It’s Twin CAT, TEMPO and CLIMBING sessions on Tuesday and INTERVAL HIT ones on Thursdays - all three at 18:50 GMT. On the Last Saturday of the month the PM endurance Ride is replaced in winter with our Team CLS Race Series which starts at 14:45. We run a Team Facebook Group, which we encourage people to follow for news and other group ride info and events. It is also a great place to ask any questions you may have about Zwift and we will do our best to answer them for you. We have tried to put together a FULL weekly package that will allow riders to both enjoy their indoor sessions and back that up with some great workouts that will improve your fitness. Our Rides are entertaining throughout, and we have some fantastic regulars on every ride, so what are you waiting for, come and join us.
